Motorcyclist Killed in I-25 Crash
On Saturday, a motorcyclist tragically lost their life in a crash on Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the individual was passing other vehicles at a high rate of speed when the incident occurred.
Two Riders Killed in Separate Crashes
The fatal crash was not the only motorcycle-related tragedy that occurred in Colorado Springs on Saturday evening. Another motorcyclist died in a separate accident that took place shortly before 9:45 p.m. Details regarding this crash are still being investigated.
Fatal Accident Closes I-25
The first crash resulted in the temporary closure of a section of I-25. Following the incident, the interstate was reopened around 8:47 p.m.
Investigation Ongoing
The CSPD is actively investigating both motorcycle crashes. Alcohol or drugs are believed to be contributing factors in the accident on South Academy Boulevard that occurred on Tuesday.
Fatal Crash on Highway 24
Another fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Highway 24 on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the closure of a portion of the eastbound lanes near North Academy Boulevard. The accident victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional Crashes and Fatalities
The string of motorcycle fatalities in Colorado Springs has continued, with additional incidents reported in recent months. One person died in a motorcycle versus vehicle collision on Friday evening on the east side of the city, while another motorcyclist lost their life in a suspected hit-and-run DUI crash on Tuesday afternoon.
