Exit Poll Projects Labor Party Victory

Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of the UK's Labor Party, is poised to become the country's next prime minister after an exit poll projected a victory for his party in Thursday's election.

Starmer, 61, is a social liberal and fiscal moderate. He has led the Labor Party since 2020. If elected, he would become the first Labor prime minister since Gordon Brown in 2010.

The exit poll, conducted by Ipsos MORI, predicted that the Labor Party would win 323 seats in the House of Commons, while the Conservative Party would win 229 seats. This would give Labor a majority of 94 seats.

The exit poll is not a final result, but it is considered to be a reliable indicator of the outcome of the election. If the exit poll is accurate, it would mark a significant victory for Labor after 12 years of Conservative rule.
